Botanical Art Workshop with KU Living Collections

We are in
for a special treat this summer as Copenhagen University opens two Greenhouses,
just for this workshop.
Among diverse species of KU Living Collections, you will observe and
learn about a new plant each day by drawing & painting them.
Perspective drawing, observing basic botanical shapes, shading, and watercolour
layering techniques will be taught.
All techniques will be based on, though not strictly adhering to,
scientific methods in Botanical illustrations.
All levels
are welcome – anyone with an interest in botanical art can join.
Spaces limited to 10 participants.
Please
bring your own drawing and painting materials.
Recommended list:
- Pencils 2H, HB, 2B
- Sharpener
- Eraser block & Kneadable Eraser
- A4 or A3 Drawing Paper, recommended 150gsm cartridge paper
- Divider or Compass tool
- A4 or A3 Watercolor paper, 300gsm hot pressed. Arches, Fabriano Artistico,
Saunders Waterford brands recommended, but use any you prefer.
- A4 or A3 Watercolour paint tubes or pans. Winsor Newton Profession or Artist
recommended otherwise choose your own
- Backboard to support drawing paper
- Water container, for example a jar
- Palette
- Paper towels
