Imagine
turning a drawing into something real; To transform them from flat images to
something you can hold in your hand. Now you’ve got the chance to learn how to
do this from a teacher with 18 years of experience sculpting and teaching.
You will be taught the process of sculpting: To transform an initial concept
drawing into an armature of steel wire and aluminum foil and finally, sculpting
the model in chavant clay. The same type of clay, used by professionals.
The final level of detail can vary depending on how far you get. This course is
tailored to the individual participant’s skill level so there is room for
everyone. This class is limited to 8 seats so there is plenty of time for
individual guidance.
You will decide what you want to sculpt; It can be a preexisting character from
pop culture, (comics, animation, games etc.) or it can be a design of your own
creation.
Please notice that the deadline for applying to the workshop is October 1st, so
Morten has time for a chat with each participant before the course starts.
Together you will plan out what you would like to sculpt and if it is possible
within the timeframe. Based on your skill level of drawing and your
understanding of shape, you and Morten will determine the appropriate level of ambition for your project. If everything goes according to plan, Morten will do
a sketch of your idea before the start of the workshop, so you have something to
measure and work from.
Material costs are included in the price, and you can borrow all the necessary
tools from Morten.
Note: discounted rate for students/unemployed/retired is only available for inghabitants of Copenhagen municipality proper, and we are legally required to ask for documentation for yuor status.
